Alex Kokenis
Alex Kokenis (she/her) is a Filmmaker, Editor, and Assistant Editor living in Brooklyn, NY.
Her latest short film, A Pickle and a Coke, is currently in its festival run, recently winning “Best Script” at Chicago Film Frenzy. Through her production company, It’s a Long Story Productions, she has co-written and co-directed two short films. Wednesday and The Root, currently in post-production.
When she is not creating her own work, she is a passionate editor and loves to bring others’ stories to life. She is currently an Assistant Editor for narrative features and a proud member of her union,IATSE Local 700.
She cites the works of Steven Soderbergh and The Duplass Brothers as her main inspiration for storytelling, with a huge admiration for the mumblecore movement.
Things she loves: a good vest, horror novels, baking, and bowling.
